What are your plans for Thanksgiving this year? Will you be hosting a dinner in your home? Or will you be spending the holiday at a relatives' or friends'?

Thanksgiving isn't really a holiday we go all out for.  This year the kids are spending a long weekend with grandparents so we can have some time to ourselves since we won't be together on our anniversary.

We usually host Thanksgiving, and then others in my family host Christmas.  We usually have about 30 people, but this year it should be light with about 20.

I will be hosting my brother and his wife and maybe a few friends.  I love cooking Thanksgiving dinner.  I will start on Monday doing the prep work and start cooking on Wednesday evening.  My Dad taught me how to make the juiciest turkey many years ago.  Put it in the oven the night before at 200.  Make sure you use an oven bag, foil or tightly sealed pan.  When you wake up on Thursday morning, baste the top of the turkey about a half hour before serving and brown the top.  Let stand for 10 - 15 minutes then carve and serve.

Thanksgiving is my FAVORITE holiday!  I love to cook and eat, so it couldn't be more perfect.  Last year I hosted both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, so this year we are taking off for a quiet family weekend away.  I'm preparing all the food before we go (except for the turkey) so all I have to do is reheat everything and roast the turkey.  I'm looking forward to spending time with my husband, who travels a lot, and my two kids and our dog.

Since my family is leaving me to go to TX for Thanksgiving, I get to host my own at home with my husband and kids. I have to WORK on T-day, but at least I will get to be at home, in the afternoon to eat, watch the Cowboys beat the Raiders, and go out to a movie and see New Moon. Sounds like a good day to me!

I will be home with my two children. I will eat Thanksgiving with my daughter at her school on 18th instead. (They don't care for Turkey & fixins all that much and I am not cooking turkey for one!)
